Born in Israel 1980, raised in Rison Letzion. Yakir's Mother (Tunisian) and Father (Yemenite) inspired him by their traditional culture. He discovered himself at family occasions and wanted to fulfill his dreams and become a professional singer. At age 16, he wanted to make his first record and with the help of his mother, He was able to promote himself.
Yakir went to serve the army at age 18 and also performed at army parades and ceremonies. At age 19 he appeared on a TV talent show for the first time and then became the darling of Middle Eastern music in Israel. He created much attention in the hottest music clubs in Tel-Aviv Israel. He came to U.S. in 2001 and in a short period of time, he attracted much attention from New York fans, and was very well known in Florida, Las Vegas, and the Israeli Jewish Community all over the U.S. His first album is about to be released.
