WHISPERING PINES
CONFERENCE CENTER

 |
You will discover that Whispering Pines is different from any other
conference center or hotel the moment you enter the main guest house.
Upon arrival, you will walk into a warm country living room complete
with fieldstone fireplace, early American furnishings, and find a gracious
staff waiting to be of service.
Whispering Pines Conference Center is an executive retreat which provides
a refreshing setting for concentration and creative thinking. W. Alton
Jones was the first to use this site for such a purpose. While it was
his private hunting and fishing retreat, he hosted meetings with dignitaries
such as President Eisenhower and the King of Nepal. Whispering Pines is a conference center
that allows meeting participants to do what you want them to...think.
W. Alton Jones, a former president of Cities Service, parent company
of the CITGO gasoline stations, and an outdoors enthusiast, once owned
the 2,300 acre site and used it as a private hunting and fishing retreat.
Today the Whispering
Pines Conference Center is part of the W. Alton Jones campus of the
University of Rhode Island. It is a quiet, secluded West Greenwich,
Rhode Island location that ensures your meeting participants can think
and work in a distraction-free environment that is conducive to helping
you achieve your meeting goals. |
